The nearest airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, which is at a distance of 85 km. There is also an airport at Azara (Guwahati), located 77 km from the district HQs, Mangaldai, and another at Saloni (Tezpur), 110 km east of Mangaldai.
To reach here from outside the state, one has to arrive in Guwahati (Capital of Assam) by Air, Train, or Bus. There are regular public buses plying from Guwahati to Mangaldai, and taxis are also readily available.
The district is well connected by road and water transport systems. NH 15 is the major road link passing through the district in an east-west direction, connecting it with the neighboring Kamrup, Udalguri, and Sonitpur districts.
The northern boundary of the district is covered by the Brahmaputra River, which offers steamer services from Upper Kurua to Guwahati. There is also a passenger ferry service from Kadamtali, near Kharupetia.
